⚽ The World Cup games have begun! To celebrate this exciting opportunity for our city, Midland Trail Elementary hosted a World Cup Parade before the end of the school year.
Each class was assigned to represent one of the countries competing in the World Cup. They spent time learning about their country and created flags and other symbols. Then, the entire school participated in the parade!
What a neat way to bring out the excitement for the World Cup! 🌎

Freshmen at Turner High School wrapped up their school year in May with learning about the Great Depression and the Civil Rights Movement. After spending time reading and researching these time periods, they created artifacts that were presented in a museum-viewing format.
What a great hands-on way to learn about important eras in our nation's history!

There's a lot of learning happening at summer school this year, but our staff is making sure there is also plenty of fun! Each week of summer school, staff and students take time out of the classroom for Fun Friday activities. This is an opportunity to celebrate all their progress and growth from the week while also being active and getting in social time with their classmates.

Introducing Jasmine Cervantes, who began her Turner Board of Education term at tonight's meeting.
When asked why she wanted to serve on the USD 202 Board of Education, she shared, "I have seen what this district is capable of, both as a student and now as a parent. My background is in data and operations, and I want to apply that alongside my lived experience in Turner to support thoughtful, informed decision-making at the board level. This community has given a great deal to my family, and this is an opportunity to give something back."
You can learn more about her through a Q&A on our district website: https://www.turnerusd202.org/about-tusd/district-news/news-story/~board/general/post/meet-jasmine-cervantes
