Ruby Backstrom and Will Smith competed in the Thespys at the Kansas Thespian Festival on January 8th at the Century II Convention Center in Wichita. They performed a musical theatre duo called "Rita's Confession" from the musical Lucky Stiff. Judges awarded them a Superior Rating, qualifying them to go on to compete at the International Thespian Festival this summer at the University of Indiana. Scoring Excellent ratings were Wyatt Flanders and Hannah Soptic in Musical Theatre Solo events. Congratulations to all for performing exceptionally in a very tough competition against students from across the state of Kansas!
