Our Tray of the Day comes from J. A. Rogers Elementary, featuring a delicious slice paired with a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables. A perfect way to end the week on a high note. 🍉🥕

☀️ Reminder: All children 18 and younger can receive FREE breakfast and lunch at our KCPS summer school sites throughout June. No enrollment required — just stop by and enjoy a nutritious meal!

Great teachers know growth doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one small win at a time. In 60 Seconds with KCPS, we ask a few fun questions to spotlight the incredible people behind Kansas City Public Schools.

Today’s spotlight: Chad Eaddy, PE Teacher from J. A. Rogers Elementary who also happens to be their 2026 Teacher of the Year.

When asked, “What makes a good day?” Chad shared that it’s setting goals with students and watching their improvement over time.

He says teaching is a marathon, not a race. Some days are great, some are tough, but what matters most is the growth students make by the end of the year. 🏅 And in PE, those victories show up everywhere: more confidence, more teamwork, and kids realizing they can do hard things.
