Please check this out and share, we are so proud of our K STEP UP students! Way to go, Azeneth! Keep up the great work!

Happy Monday, LEC community! We hope you had a great start to your week. Today we bring you a future Maestra to be celebrated, Azeneth Mosqueda! Azeneth is a first generation college student at Kansas City, Kansas Community College. She was interviewed by our VP of educator supports last week & she spoke about her hopes as a future educator, the hurdles she’s had along the way, & what keeps her motivated. “Sometimes there’s days when I think ‘should I keep going?’ & I think of you, for example. Having me on the show made me think ‘I’m going to be somebody someday’! I gotta keep pushing. I’m not there right now but I will be there!”
Azeneth, keep pushing, you are somebody & we are here to support you on your journey!
If you didn’t get a chance to watch this interview, head over to our FB page to check it out!

K STEP UP students at KCKCC had a blast last week during our annual Kansas Advanced Teacher Academy (KATA). Through the activities, K STEP UP students gained insights into the teaching profession, realized their concerns about time commitment and financial burden for going to college are common obstacles to our students, and best of all, they learned that K STEP UP program is committed to remove those obstacles for our students. Sally Lopez stands recognized. When a student comes through your door who challenges you, displays the highest intellectual curiosity and willingness to work hard against all odds (trust me about how hard first gen students have to fight), you know that her/his wagon is hitched to the stars! What great control you had of that wagon! Congratulations and best to you 💕👏👏👏💕
