At the Farmhouse Quilting & Crafting Retreat

Let's talk thimbles. I'm binding a quilt that my husband's Grandma pieced. She used what fabric had. She made drapes, slip covers, aprons,... this top has lots of medium weight fabric. I have to use a thimble. This one is been pretty good but wondering if there's something you all love better.

I'm trying to conquer this binding this weekend. It's been quilted for over a year... it's a delimena...I love non straight quilt edges but oh how I hate sewing it on. I WILL GET IT DONE TODAY or tomorrow

What are you doing today?

I'm so proud of my 11 year old granddaughter. She recieved the horse panel from BoLin's Fabric as a gift from her Aunt Penny. She picked out her quilt design, all of her fabric and did most of the work. This is her first quilt. Had it quilted by Kristi Ryan. Put it in our little guild quilt show, she got 1st place viewers choice! I didn't take any pics yesterday 😕. This is one from when she finished the top.

Town and Country Quilt Guild has a great Summer retreat. Here's a few highlights. Some finished PHDs or maybe started one, 😆 ate, worked on quilt tops, played a couple of games, made county store items, snacked, made a charity quilt, had so much fun. Love these lovely ladies. Got to know some new friends and reconnected to old friends. Let's do it again!

Tish doesn't get too far from me. She makes a great thread catcher and dust mop. 😆 🤣

Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival is next week, June 17 - 19, Thursday to Saturday. Who's coming? My guild is one of the ones helping. I'll be there! Hope to see you there, too.

I was just getting started last year and COVID hit. I've had a few small groups that have enjoyed sewing together. I've also had some interest in a Beginner's Retreat.

I have a few questions, if you could help me out?
What would you like in a Beginner's Retreat?
A full weekend?
Technique classes, that last a couple of hours on a weekend or evening?
You bring what you want to sew and I'm there to help?
I provide the project?

A group of creating buddies came for the weekend. They even invited me to stay. We had a great time. Peicing, quilting, crochet, knitting, counted crosstitch, even some diamond painting.

Five from the Town and Country Quilters in Smithville, Mo had a great sew day yesterday here. We enjoyed our sewing time. I think there's 8 quilt tops for hospice ready to be quilted. Great work ladies!
