Cameron Veterans Middle School

As we wind down the first semester, we want to take this moment to wish all of our families a wonderful holiday break. We had an amazing day today at CVMS. A seventh grade team won our dodgeball tournament and the mighty eighth grade won back the spirit stick. It was an amazing day. We’ll see everyone in the new year.

Student-athletes from Mid-Buchanan, East Buchanan, Lathrop, and Plattsburg joined Cameron students for Special Olympics "Fine Arts Frenzy" today! Mr. Tolbert, Dr. Derks, and Mrs. Leeper spearheaded music, theater, and art sessions. Guard (flags) and Dance teams and band students assisted with their activities. CHS and CVMS students were buddies! Students and staff from all schools had a great time! This is a favorite event!

Special thanks to Farmers State Bank for providing pizza, dessert, and drinks, and to Amanda and LJ Hedgpeth for their donation toward art supplies! We are grateful for our community support!

On Friday, December 5th CVMS hosted the 11th annual Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Veterans Breakfast and Assembly. The event was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who made this possible; especially all of the veterans who have served our great country.

Today your middle school grapplers traveled to Mid Buch. 13 of our 26 wrestlers brought home 1st or 2nd place. Congratulations Dragons!

Jack Frost (and road crews) report there hasn't been enough family together time yet, so Cameron schools will not be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2nd. This will be our 2nd snow day.

Cameron R-1 Schools will not be in session Monday, December 1st, 2025, due to impending winter weather and the potential for dangerous travel conditions and accumulating snow throughout the day. This is designated a snow day. Please stay safe and warm, Dragon family.

CVMS grapplers hosted a home meet tonight and went 43-13. Congratulations Dragons!

CHS Show Choir - Lights, Cameron, Action! is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner this Sunday evening! Tickets are available through CHS Vocal Music Director, Dr. Jamey Derks: [email protected] on behalf of the CHS Vocal Music Boosters and show choir students. It's a fast-paced, upbeat evening of food, music, and fun, including a dessert and gift basket auction. Tickets are limited, so don't delay!
