Each month we are going to shout-out a UMKC Dental Hygiene alum that has gone above-and-beyond!

The first alum we are going to highlight is Maddie Hoffman, class of 2023. Please read below a message from Maddie regarding the Mission Trip she served in Jamaica earlier this year!

"I had the opportunity to serve on a week-long dental mission trip to Kingston, Jamaica this April—my second trip there in the past two years. Alongside a team of dentists, hygienists, and assistants, we provided a wide range of care- including cleanings, fillings, extractions, screenings, fluoride treatments, and oral health education. We treated both adults and school-aged children; many of whom had never received dental care before. It’s been incredibly meaningful to help bring these essential services to communities in need. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities to connect with this community in Jamaica—building meaningful relationships, creating unforgettable memories, and sharing many smiles along the way. Looking forward to many more dental mission trips to come!"
