Spring naturally invites children to slow down and observe the world around them.
As plants grow, insects reappear, and the weather shifts, children are presented with real, hands-on learning opportunities every day.
In Montessori learning, nature is an essential part of education. Observing change in real time helps children build curiosity, patience, and a deeper understanding of their environment.
What is something your child has noticed outside recently that made them curious?

It’s our first Water Wednesday, and we’re ready for some splash-filled fun! ☀️💦
However, before the fun begins, it’s a great time to talk about simple water safety habits with your child!
Such as:
💦Walking (not running!) near water.
💦Listening closely to teachers and those in charge.
💦Keeping water play fun and safe while with friends.
Even small reminders can make a big difference.
Water play builds confidence, coordination, and joy, but safety always comes first.
What’s one water safety rule you always remind your child of?

Have you ever watched a child do the same thing over and over again?
In Montessori learning, repetition is growth, not boredom. Each time a child repeats a task, they refine their skills, build confidence, and deepen understanding.
What looks simple to us is meaningful work to them.
What’s something your child loves doing again and again?

At the end of the day, children may not remember every lesson they were taught or every activity they completed.
Children will remember how they felt while they were learning, whether they felt supported, encouraged, capable, and understood.
Those feelings shape their confidence, their willingness to try new things, and the way they approach challenges over time.
When children feel safe to make mistakes and proud of their efforts, learning becomes something they want to return to again and again.
The emotional experience of learning often lasts longer than the lesson itself.
What do you hope your child feels every time they are learning something new?

Every child has their favorite outdoor activity. So, what is your child's?
🌼 Park playtime
💦 Splashing in water
🚲 Bike rides
🌳 Nature walks
Each one of these activities isn't just fun for the little ones, but they are educational and instrumental to their growth.
Which one is your child choosing every time?

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
As we spend time with family and loved ones, we hold space for gratitude, for the freedoms we share, and the lives given to protect them.
Wishing our Steeplechase families a peaceful and meaningful Memorial Day.

As the weather warms up, children naturally want to move more. The sun brings out their energy and in a Montessori classroom, we could not be more excited.
That movement plays an important role in learning. Walking, carrying, balancing, and exploring outdoors all support coordination, focus, and independence.
Our classrooms encourage purposeful movement because physical activity helps children engage more deeply with their work.
Have you noticed your child focusing better after spending time outside?

A big part of Montessori learning isn’t just what children learn. It’s where they learn.
Classrooms are carefully prepared so children can access materials, make choices, and move independently. Everything has a purpose, and everything is within reach.
When the environment supports the child, confidence follows naturally.
Have you ever noticed how your child responds differently in a space designed just for them?

It is a monumental day today! It is Steeplechase Academy's Pre-K Graduation!
We could not be more proud of our Pre-K class and their hard work, curiosity, and never-ending creativity that got them to where they are today. We are also so grateful for our teachers and parents who helped support and guide them on their way to today.
Join us in celebrating our Pre-K students!

If you could give your child one lifelong skill, what would it be?
Would you choose confidence? Kindness? Problem-solving? Or curiosity?
Each of these shapes not just how children perform in school, but how they move through life. Often, the skills that matter most aren’t the ones measured on paper.
If you had to choose just one, what would it be and why?
