Mustard Seed Manor Private Education Association is a family membership based Montessori program, led by me, Christy Binn. I have been working with children for over 25 years, particularly serving children in Montessori environments since 2010. I have a degree in Mental Health, and a Montessori teaching certificate for children ages 2 1/2 to 6 from the Association Montessori International. Furthermore, I am blessed to be trained in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori method of training children in our faith. It is an understatement to say that I am so excited to offer my training and experience with children and families in the Kansas City community. There are many methods to choose from for educating young children. The Montessori Method is rooted in deeply understanding the child individually and as a part of his society. All of the lessons within our environment have been developed through observing the fundamental needs and desires of children, as was shown by the children through countless hours of observation. We provide an environment that slows down our fast-paced, modern society where children have time to enter fully into the 'work of childhood.' This work of childhood is to develop character, concentration, language, self-discipline, freedom to choose what she likes to do, and exploration of the world she lives. We look forward to accompanying children and families on this fabulous journey.
