Another round of certifications earned! 🎉

Congratulations to our T&L Welding Academy students who passed their AWS certification tests this past Saturday. Each certification represents countless hours of practice, determination, and hard work in the welding lab.

We are incredibly proud of every student who stepped up, put their skills to the test, and reached this important milestone. You earned this moment, and we cannot wait to see where your skills take you next!

We were honored to welcome KSHB 41 News to T&L Welding Academy to highlight the powerful work of SAVE KC and the journey of one of our students, Daron Fry.

Through SAVE KC’s support and his own determination, Daron has worked hard to create a new path for himself. This past Saturday, he passed his AWS certification and has already received a welding job offer. We are incredibly proud of everything he has accomplished and excited to see what his future holds.

Moments like this are made possible through strong community partnerships and the work that happens both inside and outside of the welding lab. Co-owner and Director LaShaunda Jackson works diligently behind the scenes to build relationships, coordinate opportunities, and ensure that students are given the support and second chances they need to succeed. Alongside the hands-on instruction and mentorship provided by co-owner and lead instructor Travis Jackson, this shared commitment continues to open doors for T&L students.

Last week, our students had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with local industry professionals, putting their skills, confidence, and preparation into action.

We are proud to share that several students made such a strong impression that they received job offers! Congratulations to our students, and a special thank you to the professionals who volunteered their time, shared valuable feedback, and helped create real career opportunities.

At T&L Welding Academy, we are not only preparing students to weld. We are preparing them for the workforce.

Our summer class has been putting in the work! ☀️🔥

Throughout the summer, students have been in the lab building their skills, practicing their welds, and gaining confidence with every session. We are proud of their dedication and excited to see their continued progress.

T&L Welding Academy will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing holiday weekend with family and friends. We will resume normal business hours after the holiday.

Learning goes beyond the classroom at T&L Welding Academy!

This past week, our newest students had the opportunity to hear from a former T&L student who has been working with the Boilermakers for nearly two years. They shared their journey from training to employment, offering valuable insight, encouragement, and real-world advice to the next generation of welders.

We also took our students on a field trip to a local Sheet Metal facility, where they got a firsthand look at the industry, explored career opportunities, and saw skilled trades professionals in action.

Experiences like these help our students connect their training to the exciting careers waiting for them after graduation.
