🌟Meet Estela from Spain! 🌟

Estela is a 15-year-old who is friendly, positive, and curious about the world. She loves dancing, singing, skiing, surfing- which truly shows she would be a wonderful fit in any part of the US.

Dear family, my name is Estela, I’m 14 years old, and I’m from Spain. I live in a house with my parents and our dog, Toxo. My family is very close and we love spending time together, especially on weekends. We usually go out, watch movies, or just do something fun together. My family is really supportive and loving, and even though I know I will miss them a lot, I’m very excited to meet you and become part of your family. I live in a village with beach, here we have schools but I go to the town at a private school.
I have a sister that lives in Germany, and even though I miss her, we talk very often and she always encourages me to live new experiences. I admire her a lot because she is very brave and independent, and she inspires me to explore the world too. I also lived in Portugal for most of my childhood, which helped me learn to adapt to new places and different cultures from a young age. Living there taught me that every country has something beautiful and unique, and that made me curious to keep discovering the world.
In my free time, I love dancing, singing, and spending time with my friends. I also enjoy listening to music, doing my makeup, and going shopping. I’m a creative person and I like activities that let me express myself. Dancing makes me feel free and happy, and I love learning new choreographies. I also really enjoy singing, even if it’s just at home or with my friends. Music always puts me in a good mood and helps me relax.
My friends are very important to me. We always support each other and share lots of fun moments together. We like to talk, go for walks, or watch movies. I think friendships are one of the most valuable parts of life, and I hope to make new friends during my exchange too. I enjoy meeting new people, learning from them, and building meaningful connections.
I decided to go on an exchange to the United States because I really like the culture and the way people live there. I’ve always been curious about their schools, traditions, and lifestyle. I also want to improve my English and become more independent. I think living with a host family will be a wonderful way to grow as a person and experience something completely new.
Last year, I spent one month in Germany doing volunteer work as a children’s teacher. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I learned how to be patient, responsible, and creative while working with kids. I also met people from different countries and learned a lot about teamwork and communication. Teaching the children was so rewarding — they taught me just as much as I taught them!
I also had the opportunity to do a one-month exchange in Ireland. That experience helped me become more independent and confident. It was my first time living away from my family for such a long time, and I learned how to adapt to a new environment and take care of myself. I met amazing people there, and I’m still in contact with some of them. Those experiences made me realize how much I love learning about new cultures and meeting people from around the world.
People usually describe me as a responsible and caring person. I like helping others and being someone people can trust. I’m a little shy at first, but once I feel comfortable, I’m very friendly and talkative. I enjoy learning new things and always try to stay positive, even when things get difficult.
In the future, I would love to travel around the world and study marketing. I think it’s a career that combines creativity, communication, and culture — three things that I’m very passionate about. I hope this exchange will help me learn more about myself, improve my English, and prepare for the future.
I also hope to share a bit of my own culture with you. I would love to show you some of my favorite traditions, foods, and maybe even a few dance moves from my country! I’m very open to learning about your daily life and trying new things, whether it’s food, activities, or family routines. I want to be a positive part of your home and help with whatever you need. I’m sure this experience will teach me a lot, not only about American culture but also about kindness, respect, and what it means to be part of a family in another country.
Thank you so much for opening your home and giving me the opportunity to be part of your family. I’m really excited to meet you, learn about your culture, and share mine with you. I can’t wait to start this adventure and create many beautiful memories together.
With love,
Estela.

You can host for a full school year, or a partial year. You can host someone from a country you’d like to learn more about. You can host a high schooler from a country you’d like to travel to one day, or who speaks a language you want to learn or practice. You can host if you are an empty nester, or have a young family, or if you have a high schooler too. And you can choose a foreign student to host who has the same interests as your family! Curious? Local Businesses, Churches, Schools, and Community Groups – Partner With Us & Earn $500 💚

Is anyone in needs of extra funds/fundraising? Our exchange student program is looking for community partners who are willing to help us share information about hosting an international high school student.

Many wonderful students will be arriving this fall and are still in need of host families. Hosting is a meaningful cultural experience for families and an opportunity to build lifelong connections.

To help us reach more families, we are inviting local organizations to simply display a flyer or share a short email with their members or customers. As a thank you, we offer a $500 referral payment for each host family that signs up through your organization.

There is no cost and very little time involved. We will provide the flyer, QR code, and all information needed.

If your business, church, PTA, club, or community organization would be open to helping us spread the word, please message me and I would love to share more details.

Thank you for supporting cultural exchange in our community!
