‼️‼️Why weighing yourself sucks‼️‼️

Stepping on the scale is such a big talking point in the fitness world. We are programmed to think that stepping on the scale and reading the number is what determines our health. Yes you could argue to a point it does play a part, however for most people it plays more of a mental block.

Ladies in particular I am talking to you!! Unless you are competing in a competition where you have to meet a certain weight requirement, the number on the scale isn’t as important as you think.

Keep in mind depending on the stage of your menstrual cycle or if you are going through menopause your weight will likely fluctuate.

Do your best to look at your wins in other ways, for example are your clothes fitting better? Can you see some muscle definition starting to show? Do you feel more energized? Do you feel stronger when performing your lifts or can you go for longer when doing cardio?

These are all HUGE wins! 🫶🏼

December of 2022 I was sitting at 200lbs, lacking energy and struggling for motivation. I made myself a goal of being able to get back at my pull up game. I was able to do 2 pull ups at that time. My goal was by August 2023 I would be able to do 9 pull ups.

Fast forward to June 2023 here today I hit 9 decent pull ups and I am currently sitting at around 175-180lbs. This is the most amount of pull ups achieved at this weight.

What changed? I made a plan, I set goals and I stuck to them. I definitely didn’t overly change or restrict my diet. I upped my protein and upped my dedication to my goals.

Make sure you are setting yourself realistic and achievable fitness goals for yourself on a regular basis, and then do everything you can to achieve them.

And remember the number on the scale doesn’t reflect who you are or how strong you are. What is important is that we can continue to use our bodies effectively and safely as we age through life.

Hi everyone! My name is Emma, and I am an experienced ACE certified personal trainer.

Here’s a little about me:

I am 27 years old and originally from Derby, England. I have my Bachelor of Science in fitness and wellness, which I gained while playing soccer as collegiate athlete. I then gained my Master of Business Administration while coaching collegiate athletes!

I have been a certified personal trainer for 7 years, but I’ve been in the fitness industry all my life. I started playing soccer at 4 years old and since then health and wellness has been a huge passion of mine.

I am launching my online personal training business, and I am offering a variety of different services to my clients regardless of location or country of residence.
