Exhibition: A Dangerous Calling - 500 Years of William Tyndale’s New Testament | St Paul's Cathedral 05/21/2026

Did you know this year marks the 500th anniversary of the publication of William Tyndale’s English New Testament? It was the first ever translated from the original Greek and would become the backbone of the English Bible for the next 100 years, including the King James Bible. But it was not welcomed by all. The Bishop of London burned copies in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London and called it a “most pernicious poison.” This summer, that same Cathedral will mark the anniversary of Tyndale’s NT with a new exhibition opening in June, and a series of talks, tours and activities through the year.
