National white wine day, you say?
Count me in, my lil’ grape-crushin’ friends. Some may think that we don’t need much of an excuse to sip through stellar white wine in weather like this, but for me the only excuse I need is inside the box of this long-time favorite of mine : SCHPLINK
This has been one of my go-to white wines for many moons now, so I want to kick off reviews for wines again with an old favorite and an updated description of it that I’ve written about it in the past mixed with what I still love about it from the present.
This delectable, perfectly packaged Austrian wine is a ridiculous value - sitting at a 3L box (4 bottles of wine, so salutations to the rest of your summer holiday’s party plans) and is the perfect balance of crisp, acidity and enough grip to pair with food,.
Alright, my little grape crushers. Let’s get to it.
Right off the bat, I have always freaking loved Schplink. Don’t let their modern marketing fool you, it comes from an Austrian winery started in 1721 and run by an 11th generation vintner. They combine history and tradition with innovation daily, and that’s hard to pull off in this industry.
Another plus for me is how fun it is to say “Schplink!” over and over again. Go ahead, try it.
I’ll wait.

The rest is in the comments.

This Chilean red wine is about a good of a start to our week as any 🍷🍇 we have some stellar events coming up that we’re about to announce - stay tuned!

When you have a whole camping set up with cutting boards and packed food and you’re assembling a charcuterie board and tasting wine to pair with different parts of it and every person within eyesight of the spectacle comes up and asks if we work at The Pairing: Crossroads Wine & Grocer. I think you know the answer. Shoutout to Kate Blackman for our SICK cherry-apricot-blood orange amaro jam.
We shook the speare so hard.

We watched the season finale of The Bear with Blackhole Bakery’s Italian Beef sandwiches and got inspired to get weird, naturally, with a cocktail to pair with it. A lot of the inspiration came from the omelet scene, and every ingredient in the cocktail came together with Sydney’s omelet and Blackhole’s insanely delicious sandwich. I even used my “bitter butter” from the Cappelletti and Aperol infusion to cook the eggs to bring everything full circle again.
They’re selling some this morning until they’re sold out, so R U N not walk on over and snap one or two up before they’re gone. The definition of worth it!
I’ll be writing up a blog post on how to make everything for the cocktail, but until then grab yourself a sandwich and watch (or rewatch) some of this stellar show.
Let It Rip!
Italian Sausage-washed Cappelletti & Aperol • Fino Sherry • Chives-infused Honey • Velvet Falernum • Prosecco • Sour Cream & Onion Chip Garnish • a local Honey Bear as the vessel, of course

National Rosé Day, here I come! While filling glasses with plenty of pink is always a Good Friday in my book, I wouldn’t be my crazy self without looking around my home bar for ingredients to whip up a cocktail on the fly using the rosés I photographed with. And I wouldn’t be my crazy self if the end result wasn’t both odd yet delicious.
Cheers to filling your glasses with celebration and adaptability! I suggest you try this:
🍉 3 cubes of watermelon, muddled in your shaker with a pinch of kosher sea salt
🌵 1oz Tequila
🌹 2-2 1/2oz Dry Rosé
💚 3/4oz lime juice
🥒 1oz cucumber simple syrup
💐 1/2oz Elderflower Liqueur
⛲️ Absinthe rinse on the glass (check out that old-school, throw back label on my favorite absinthe from Lifted Spirits!)
Garnish : Cucumber-watermelon skewer 🍡

One of my favorite, go-to classics : The Aviation! The color, low level of sweetness, and perfect floral notes have always made this cocktail a favorite of mine. Take flight on this one with me 🛫 and tell me what you’re sipping on right now?
Almost always grabbin’ my abv’d groceries from

Proud to represent a brand who represents doing the right thing and fighting for love, no matter the cost or complication, and stands with the family we have found within its walls.

One of the coolest flights I’ve tasted in a minute - this is the accumulation of the favs that are new on the shelf at The Pairing right now. Light, crisp, fruity but not too sweet, everything I’d want in a wine flight to launch off my June. Get yerself down there and see for yourself, available until Sunday 🍷🍾 See the notes

This Italian flight was particularly scrumptious at The Pairing this weekend. Got me through all the draft stress people can’t stop talking about 🍷🍇✈️

What am I sippin’ on this weekend? Kate at The Pairing picked out a pretty gosh dang fun couple of wine flights, but the one I have my eye on in the next couple of days is her Premier Flight. The theme this weekend is : PARTY DOWN UNDER
Featured are all Aussie wines and winemakers that you would think would be designed for this changing weather we have in the ol’ KC, MO. They balance perfectly with the whiplash we have of the cooler mornings with the heated afternoons and waning evenings. Bring it on, this flight has it all!
But don’t take my word for it - head there and see for yourself 🍷✈️🤘

It’s ridiculously dangerous that my favorite hangout spot in the city, which is made even more tempting by the fact that it’s around the corner from where my loft is, now has a K I L L E R looking cocktail menu. Cafe Corazon (their Crossroads location) is now featuring some authentic spirits, a promising looking wine list, and aesthetically stunning cocktails. Get ya’self down there and drink some yerba, a lil’ shot of booze, and support some of the coolest people doing the community some good while you’re at it.
Their Westport location is tagged here on Instagram (the Crossroads wasn’t on here as a location) but it’s here in the ‘Roads where you can get these beauties!
It’s also where you can snag some Yerba Maté - they’re the only ones I source my house Yerba from!

A very enthusiastic and happy International Women's Day to E V E R Y woman out there. Whatever side of the bar you’re on right now, I see you and celebrate all that we have to combat against to get where we’re going. Where we want to go. Where the world needs us to go.
Pictured is a cocktail that I’ve made with one of my FAVORITE tequilas on the planet. Not only is it drop-dead incredible quality, but the company itself is women-owned & women operation and they do an outstanding job at showcasing both unique flavors and impeccable humans.
I’ll be posting a blog about this shortly, but in the meantime enjoy this shot highlighting some crazy cool ladies. Keep shining bright, friends! We got this.
Mezcal • Tequila • lime • my loft oleo saccharum • orange bitters • Tajín rim
