How well do you want your child to perform in school?
Read this.
How comes students with the same teacher perform differently? Aren't they all learning the same thing?
You may say to yourself it's because different kids are gifted differently. Maybe you're right.
But does that mean that child performing poorly in school should now be doomed for failure forever? No way!
There are very many factors that determine how kids perform in school. For example, family conditions, social conditions and so on.
As a parent there is only so much you can do. But don't give up on your kid. Kids have a lot of capacity to learn. For example, did you know a child below 10 years can learn up to 7 languages at the same time?
You should consider getting your child a tutor. An online tutor, to make it more convenient.
Kids can open up to tutors about their academic struggles in ways they can't even open up to you.
Tutoring provides an opportunity for the child to really consider what they don't know, and what they really want to know.
A friend once told me that the only way to make someone do something is to make them want to do it.
Tutors make kids want to study and that makes a major difference in the education of the child.
We have wonderful, highly trained, empathetic tutors that can help your kid as I have described above.
We are not cheap because we employ very qualified tutors. But we are affordable.

If you're a parent who wants your child to perform well in school, then this is for you.
Before I ask you to buy, I am going to help you with three tips that if put to practice, you'll start seeing improvement in your child's school performance immediately.
Number 1.
Set a fixed time during the day for your kid to do school work. Entice and incentive your child for them to look forward to that set time.
For example, you could say, "everyday once you finish your 40 minutes study, I will make you your favourite chocolate drink."
Number 2.
Cultivate a relationship with one of your child's teachers. Try to get along with the teacher. Invite the teacher into your home. Become a true friend to the teacher.
Two things will happen. First, the teacher will become more concerned and committed to help your child. Second, your child will begin to see teachers as more friendly people, which will go a long way to make them love school.
Number 3.
This may sound obvious but here it is, Never compare your child's academics to another child. If you must make comparisons, compare your child's current performance to his or her previous performance. For example, this term versus last term.
Now this are only three tips. We have worked with hundreds of parents and have had each of the students we taught improve massively in their academics and also social life.
We don't just teach kids math and English, we also teach parents how best to support their children in the education journey.

Should my kids take care of me when I grow old?
This is a question that every parent has to face at some point. In the not so long past, it was the duty of children to take care of their parents. In fact, in some cultures, parents would have many children with the goal of maximizing their comfort in old age. Your child may be young now, but have you given a though to this? You should.
In the 21st century, parents who were traumatized by the experiences of taking care of their own parents are excluding their children from this obligation. This mindset is also informed by the fact that the elderly care industry has come a long way. One can retire into an elderly home much more comfortably today.
Nevertheless, there are certain needs only family will be able to meet. Elderly homes may take care of your physical needs but its your children who will provide emotional needs. What does this mean for you now?
Well, it means that you should invest in the emotional needs of your child. Treat your kid how you would want him or her to treat you in your old age. Be patient with him or her. Provide full support. Now you may be thinking you do that already, but let this serve as a kind reminder that you could do better.
Understandably, you may not be able to help your child with everything but it’s the thought that counts, right? For example, if your child struggles with math in school, you may not be in the best position to help. You probably didn’t like math so much yourself! But your child is emotionally invested in school, and you should help him or her.
Here is what you can do, help indirectly. Get a math tutor.

How to make everyone enjoy the company of your child
Jordan Peterson says that the responsibility of a parent is to socialize the child before the age of 4. He says you need to make your child acceptable among friends, and admired by adults. This is excellent advice, but what happens after the age of 4?
We have seen perfectly lovable kids grow up to become bitter, angry, resentful failures. What happens? And what can you do as a parent to prevent it from happening?
After the age of 4, other factors apart from your voice and actions as the parent begin to influence the kid. For example, at around age 7, kids begin to understand the abstract perception of others, and this is a game changer. Before the age of 10, children will start forming in-groups, despite the fact that almost all kids that age have same interests. Some of these factors are more crucial than others.
One factor that appears very early and never leaves is the need to be included and accepted. A child at age 4, will begin gifting others to ‘buy’ inclusion. By age 10, children already understand what rejection is, mostly from their peers, and they will even lie to be accepted.
So, what can you do as a parent to ensure that your child becomes, and remains accepted among peers and by adults?
Here is where education comes in. One commonality between all kids who hang out or play together is school. That is where they assess each other. Education connects them and influences how they relate to each other.
Simply put, if your child struggles to explain a multiplication question, the more likely the child will struggle to express themselves. A kid may even intentionally isolate himself believing that others will judge him harshly. You as a parent should want your child to be comfortable in school.
This is why tutoring is crucial for kids between age 5 and 13. With tutoring, your kid does not only get good grades but it also translates to a better social life in the short term and in the long term. Everyone enjoys the company of your child!
At Kidgrasp Learning, we approach tutoring with this understanding; that the child needs to feel accepted and included. We know that this translates to their self-esteem, self-expression and self-perception. We take a friendly approach. Our tutors seek to establish a friendship through the learning process.
