Many believers aren’t struggling because they lack faith.

Everybody wants to become stronger… until life tests them.

Back in 2012, Chicago recorded over 500 homicides during one of the city’s most violent years, while thousands of people across America were battling fear, identity struggles, depression, and survival mentally, emotionally, and financially.

Three lessons from The Dark Knight Rises:
• Fear can either imprison you or push you to rise
• Pain can become purpose when you stop running from it
• Before you lead others through darkness, you must first master your own

Ironically, that was also the same year the final Batman trilogy film, The Dark Knight Rises, was released.

And ironically…
that was also the same year I entered my own dark pit, survived being shot, and began my transition from Chicago to Kansas City.

Maybe that’s why the message still hits different:
sometimes you have to go through the dark before you discover the strength to rise.
