5. Do better/be better.

At Hanshi Sh**un Brown event my biggest take away “learn from the best, who was taught by the best; Was the work that the 70+ year olds were putting in and have been putting in.

I was again reminded at the clinic last night when I was the only one there under 50. There is so much more to learn and there is so much “better” that awaits me.

Now to go get it.

4. Take more photos.

In late February we went to TX to train with Hanshi Raymond Montoya and a host of martial arts masters. I was focused on the training and have almost no footage from that event.

Then we went to a clinic hosted my Hanshi Ken Baker and again didn’t get much footage from that event as I was focused on the various nuggets the instructors were dropping.

So yeah- take more photos. Decades from now you will be glad you did.

3. So there was Master Seikichi Odo who trained Hanshi Bill Marron- I was blessed to meet and train under him(Marron) I believe twice before he passed.

Hanshi Marron’s first 2 Black belts are still alive and pouring from a very deep well of martial arts knowledge and experience.

Hanshi Dan Kennedy who is my instructor’s teacher has made himself readily available to me. He is a joy to be around in any environment.

Hanshi Crayton Moss has impacted me, before this weekend, via his books and literature. This pass weekend was my first time meeting him and it’s one of those meetings that will be cherished forever.

What a historic moment to be able to train with these two giants.

2. I saw a man walking and he had his wife on the inside, you know furthest away possible from the street. This how we was taught.

Yeah but he had his young daughter on the other side of him putting her closest to the street.

This was 2 days ago and it’s been on my mind ever since.

5 random thoughts before I hit the road.

1. How amazing is the God we serve. Every worship service isn’t the same but I am yet feasting on today’s worship at Boone Tabernacle Church of God in Christ.

When I got the news I contacted Hanshi Palmer directly, but I do want to share the news to all the Omega family and congratulate our newest Hanshi.

Much deserved for a man that has literally dedicated his life to the martial arts and have been involved in the building and advancing of this community for over 40 years.

Congratulations to our very own Hanshi Jamie Palmer on his new title! What an honor it is to have our very own Hanshi at OKA!

We are all looking forward to the many trips to Handhiland we will now get in a regular basis!
