This week has been so good, we have FOUR Excellent Eagles to spotlight.

First, we have Emma from Mrs. Daubenmire's 2nd grade class. She is nominating Emma for excellent eagle because she exemplifies our core value of compassion. She is always checking in on her friends and classmates. If anyone drops something or needs assistance with something, she is the first to lend a hand! We are proud of the kind, helpful and compassionate student that Emma is!

Next we have Malachi from Mrs. Deese's 5th grade class. Malachi has shown responsibility and perseverance by recognizing when he was becoming frustrated and independently choosing to take a break so he could reset and return ready to learn. He also demonstrated compassion and responsibility after a science project by helping clean up all of the supplies without being asked.

Also, we have Alana from Mrs. Dwire's 3rd grade class. Alana consistently demonstrates our core values by being exceptionally respectful and responsible. She continually goes above and beyond in the classroomโ€”for instance, when her partner is out of our classroom, she takes the initiative to clean his workspace and ensures important materials, like anchor charts, are glued into his notebook so he never falls behind. She approaches every day with genuine compassion, collaborates seamlessly with anyone she works with, and serves as an outstanding role model for our entire school. We are so proud of Alana and cannot wait to see all that she accomplishes this school year!

Last, but not least we have Levi, also from Mrs. Dwire's 3rd grade class. Levi demonstrated exceptional PBIS expectations during our first fire drill by staying safe and responsible. When the alarm sounded, he prioritized safety above all else. Even when his shoe fell off in the classroom, he didn't stop to search for itโ€”he immediately followed procedure, safely exited the classroom, and set a great example for his peers. Beyond emergency procedures, Levi is a true classroom leader who consistently models our core expectations, particularly during academic conversations. We are so proud of his dedication and leadership!

North Kannapolis is excited to bring the Paint Playgrounds Project to North Kannapolis Elementary in partnership with the Rotary Club of Cabarrus County!

On Saturday, September 12, weโ€™ll be transforming our outdoor classroom and playground blacktop into colorful, interactive spaces where our Eagles can MOVE, PLAY & LEARN!

And this is a project we would LOVE to bring to life together!

Weโ€™re looking for 20+ volunteers and invite our NK families, students, staff, community partners, and friends to roll up their sleeves and join us! No artistic experience is needed, just a willingness to help! ๐Ÿ™Œ

We are so excited to bring back our NKE tradition of Excellent Eagles! These students are nominated by teachers and staff for going above and beyond to meet school expectations. We have our very first Excellent Eagles of the 26-27 school year.

First up is Greyson Yonish in Mrs. Rodgers' 4th grade class. Greyson has started his 4th grade year off in the strongest way. He's adjusted well to our school and classroom routines and has been an excellent role model to his peers. He is really proving what it looks and sounds like to be an excellent eagle.

Next up is Jordan McCrary from Mrs. Deese's 5th grade class. Jordan is new to our school and has already shown what it means to be an Excellent Eagle. He consistently demonstrates our PBIS expectations by being respectful, responsible, and safe, and his positive attitude and choices make him a wonderful example for others.

Congratulations Greyson and Jordan! Way to start the school year strong!๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ’š

Huge thank you to Charlotte Motor Speedway for coming and doing STEAM activities with our 4th and 5th graders! We had such a great time creating bubbles and our own slime, and learning about the different flags used during a race!๐Ÿฅผ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿงฌ
