Kankakee Community College - Radiography Program Kankakee Community College We provide a supportive environment for lifelong learning for the individual and the development of the community.

Kankakee Community College is dedicated to implementing quality, comprehensive educational programs and services in a fiscally responsible manner. We provide leadership in identifying the future education needs of our district. The college is dedicated to providing learning experiences for living as well as for earning, resulting in a comprehensive academic program designed to give students the pe

rsonalized attention they need to lead fulfilling lives and have successful careers. Kankakee Community College continuously seeks, collects, and assembles information to aid in identifying District 520 educational needs and searches for ways and means to physically and financially provide programs which will address identified needs. The college believes in general education as well as specialized studies. The purposes of general education courses in degree curricula are to assist students in becoming contributing members of society, to enhance career goals, and to provide appropriate backgrounds to baccalaureate-oriented students. Through completion of general education requirements, students are expected to synthesize, develop and internalize personal values; increase awareness and develop a more global perspective of the human condition and man's adaptation to the total human environment; strengthen basic skills in communications and computation; and integrate general and career-specific learning. Professional Radiographer Philosophy:

Supplementing the philosophy of the College is the philosophy of the professional Radiographer. We believe that health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease. The enjoyment of the highest attainable standards of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinctions of race, religion, political belief, economic or social conditions. The health of all people is fundamental to the attainment of peace and security and is dependent upon the fullest cooperation of individuals. KCC Radiography Program's Primary Goal:

Radiologic Technologists are highly educated medical professionals who play a critical role in patient care. We complete rigorous academic programs, extensive clinical training, and national certification to ensure that every image we produce is accurate and every patient is protected from unnecessary radiation. Our knowledge of anatomy, radiation safety, positioning, and imaging technology is essential to the patient's care and accurate diagnosis.
This profession is built on education, skill, and accountability. Our patients safety depends on it.

Please take the time to educate yourself on the legislation currently being proposed. These decisions impact not only our profession, but the quality and safety of care patients receive every day.

It is with profound sadness that we bid farewell to an exceptional educator who founded and developed the KCC radiography program. Ed was more than a professor—he was a dedicated mentor whose influence will be deeply felt for years to come.

Ed's impact on our field and community is immeasurable. He touched countless lives, both through his direct instruction and through the students he trained, including Darla Jepson , Mendy Corbett, and myself, who have continued to share the knowledge and values he instilled in us. We have carried forward his work, and I am deeply honored to preserve and advance the legacy he built. Rest in Peace, Ed.
