Ninety incoming fifth and sixth graders explored career pathways at this week's Windward District CTE Summer Camp. There were interactive activities and hands-on learning in the fields of automotive technology, computer science, culinary arts, digital design, natural resources and film and media. High school students from Castle and Kalāheo assisted teachers in the classrooms.

Join us for Elevating Science in the Classroom, a 3-credit PD course designed to support teachers in designing engaging, inquiry-driven science learning experiences aligned to NGSS 3-dimensional learning.

Whether you’re new to NGSS or looking to deepen your instructional practice in science, this course is designed to support you every step of the way.

Participants will:
🔬 Explore research-based instructional strategies
🌱 Design lessons connected to meaningful phenomena and problems
🤝 Collaborate with fellow educators from across the Windward District
📚 Reflect on and strengthen their instructional practice
✨ Receive coaching and feedback throughout the course

Mahalo and for being key partners in our ʻĀina Aloha Mindset Day! Mahalo to Maya Saffrey for educating us all and setting the tone for the day! Mahalo to Kāne’ohe 4th grader teachers for being life long learners, dedicated ʻāina teachers for your students and being so willing to lead the way and share with other teachers.

We are excited to announce the 2026 Windward District CTE Summer Camp: ‘Imi ā loa‘a for incoming 5th and 6th students (in the SY 2026-27)! .b.castlehighschool & health services students competed in the first ever Anatomage tournament in Hawaii! Congratulations to Kalaheo’s team for winning first place! The students also participated in hands on breakout sessions with doctors and nurses! Mahalo to & for this amazing learning experience!

We couldn’t think of a better place to wrap up our final K-12 College & Career Connected Learning alignment meeting of the year than the beautiful Kaʻaʻawa Farm at .

We looked back on a year of incredible alignment work between our intermediate and high schools, and began planning next year’s mission: onboarding our elementary feeder schools.

School teams also learned about how we partner with .ikekaiaulu to connect K-12 classroom learning to sustainable farming on the ranch in agriculture and aquaculture.

Mahalo to Kualoa Ranch for hosting us and being such a vital partner in our students’ journey!
