Parker School Alumni Ohana Parker alumni are a valuable part of our 'ohana. Here we share memories, & alumni & school updates! We continue to grow as our community, and its needs, grows.

Established in 1976 by several North Hawai'i community leaders, Parker School became an independent day school to serve the area's high school students. In order to best serve the community, there were to be no restrictions as to race, creed or geographic location of residence, and tuition was to be held at a reasonable amount. Initially, the school was opened to serve grades 9 through 12. Middle

school grades were added in 1977 and, in 2005, Parker School became a full curriculum school with the addition of kindergarten through 5th grade. In 2007, a new, beautiful Lower School campus was opened. By starting children at Parker School at the beginning of their academic journey, we are able to apply a whole-school methodology and continuum of learning. We work with each child from the knowledge base they have when they first come into the classroom. Every year our teachers know what their incoming students bring with them from the previous year and are able to challenge their students appropriately. Our small class sizes and small school size make this possible. Parker School is fully accredited in grades K-12 by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Hawai'i Association of Independent Schools (HAIS).

The Board of Directors invites you to learn about Parker’s past, present, and future from those who led the school over the last 36 years. Get an update from current Head of School, Stephen Dunn about the School’s current state and future plans, and reflect on previous challenges and successes with former Headmasters, Pieper Toyama (1990-2002) and Carl “Doc” Sturges(2002-2020).
We are pleased to welcome panel moderator, Rusell Subiono ʻ93, back to campus as well.

Visit campus and walk through the historic Kahilu Hall, tour campus, learn about Parker School’s history, play on the beautiful Lower School playground, make something in the new Technology Center, enjoy live music, and purchase lunch from local food vendors.

LOOK WHO’S COMING to our 50th Anniversary Weekend…

Uncle Eric and Kumu Jackie ʻ89 continue to be an important part of Parkerʻs story! Over their many years at Parker, Eric and Jackie have filled almost every role possible including student, employee, parent and grandparent, and they hold the distinction of being the first, third-generation Parker family. Eric and Jackie are also helping us tell Parkerʻs story as two of the people featured in a new film by Adam Palya, Founder of Lucky Tree Productions, about the history of Parker School.
