WELCOME BACK BLAZERS! 💙

Tomorrow is the first day of school! As we get ready to welcome our students back, we want to make sure families are familiar with our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures. Please take a few minutes to review the attached information and make sure to keep these important reminders in mind:

MORNING DROP-OFF:
~Drop-off begins at 7:30am. Please do not drop off before, our doors are locked and staff are not present to ensure student safety before that time.
~K-2 Students must be dropped off at the BSE main office, if you have a 3-5 students as well, they may be dropped off at the entrance.
~3-5 students (without younger siblings) must be dropped off at KUE main office.
~There is NO PARKING in the circle drive during morning drop-off.
If you need to walk your child to the door, please use one of the designated parking lots to park and walk your child up.

AFTERNOON PICK-UP:
~Pick-up begins at 3:05pm.
~All K-5 students will use the two-line carline.
~Please pull ALL THE WAY FORWARD and follow staff directions.
~Your ORANGE vehicle pass must be visible during pick-up.
~Students will be escorted by a staff member directly to your vehicle.

EARLY PICK-UP:
~If your child must leave early, please park in designated parking lots rather than getting caught in carline.
~Office pick-up is reserved for appointments and/or family emergencies, please do not use it to avoid carline.

REMEMBER: We are operating as a one-way system, it is right turns only! Follow signage and staff members direction.

We know the first few days may take a little extra time as everyone learns how and gets back into routine. We thank you for your patience, cooperation, and most importantly, helping us keep our students safe!

Hello again, KUE community! We are excited to announce another wonderful addition to KUE! Meet Mrs. Loren Lombardi, a Kalkaska grad with ties to Rapid City! She will be joining our third grade team! 🥳

As we welcome Kaitlyn, aka Mrs. Wakefield, to our Upper Elementary team, we also want to take a moment to celebrate and thank Mrs. Woodruff for the many years she dedicated to our school.

Sue was always there to listen, hand out an ice pack, and keep us smiling with her unforgettable laugh attacks during announcements! We are so grateful for all she did for our students and staff, and we wish her all the best in retirement. 💗

Please help us welcome Kaitlyn to our school family! 🤍💙

MARK YOUR CALENDARS 🗓️

Kalkaska Elementary (TK-5th Grade) Open House:
• When: Thursday, August 20th
• Where: Birch Street Elementary and Kalkaska Upper Elementary
• Time: 3:00-3:45

This is the perfect opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, see their classroom and find their locker, all while touring the building and saying hello to some new and familiar faces 🤗
Any school supplies purchased may be dropped off at this time, too.

After that, head on over to our annual Blazer Bash and celebrate the upcoming school year with us!

• Where: Kalkaska Middle School Parking Lot
• Time: 4:00pm - 6:00pm
