It's been one year since the most recent addition to our livestock trailer fleet.
The map shows you the location of eight out of the nine current Emergency Response to Accident Involving Livestock (ERAIL) trailers. But there's more to this story...
These trailers are part of a larger program. A partnership with local first responders and state agencies to provide resources that help responders do their jobs when emergency calls involve animals. With millions of animals transported across the country each week, this trailer helps reduce chaos, protect lives (both human and animal), and keep our roadways safer.
With this crucial investment in Michigan's safety infrastructure, we're able to better support our animal agriculture industry.
We host regular trainings on how to respond to these types of accidents as part of the program. If you play a role in protecting people, animals and our roadways, we hope you'll join us.

Oak wilt is a fast acting killer of our native oak trees. Learn more about oak wilt risk factors and what time of year is best to prune oak trees.

Best bet: Don't prune oaks between April and the end of October.

Leadership can happen from any chair.

MSU Extension is offering a Local Government Leadership Intensive on October 9 in Traverse City for elected and appointed officials, department heads, staff members, and others who want to strengthen their leadership skills.
During this interactive one-day program, participants will explore their leadership approach, work through a real-world leadership challenge, learn with other local government leaders, and leave with a strategic goal and actionable next steps.
