Once again our Thanksgiving centerpieces did not disappoint. It is quite the process preparing for these as the children collect nature for weeks. Parents tell me they still have their's from previous years. It's a great lesson for the kids in giving to others. We were also thankful to end our short week with some fun snow play. We wish everyone a great rest of the week!! 🍂 🧡

What a magical fall it has been at Sweet Pea Outdoor School! We have enjoyed all the beautiful colors and gorgeous weather which have created the perfect environment for exploring and learning outside. Making connections with friends, teachers, and nature in an outdoor space is truly one that we are so grateful for. Our adventures have led us to incorporating our letter learning including things like creating "Bug Snugs" learning about "Hibernation", lots of "Experiments", and this last week "Foraging" for items to create out traditional Thanksgiving centerpieces that each child gets to bring to their own table. A tradition we have been doing for a decade. Pics of those to come soon! We are looking forward to the next season...winter!! Bring on all the snow! ~Let the Adventures Begin~

A little late posting, but we had an awesome time at our Wilderness survival camp! These campers were able to learn some skills and knowledge on what to do in a worst case scenario, along with some fundamental backcountry learning. We built different kinds of shelters, respected the tool of fire: fire safety, how to build, use, and extinguish properly, essential items to pack, along with the leave no trace principles, plus much much more! Once again it was a very respectful group and we thank everyone for an awesome week outside! There is no place we'd rather be.
Next up is are very popular Water camp!!

We just finished up our first camp of the summer! Fungus Among Us. These kids were amazing. Very respectful, really enjoyed the learning experience, and made sure to include everyone in their games and activities. LOVED IT! We had a great time growing, cooking, and exploring Mushrooms! We really believe that learning about Mushrooms is just as important as learning about plants and animals. Educating yourself about our world is so important to us. Thank you for all who came. You were AWESOME!! We have a few spots left in our Nocturnal camp July 14th-18th if anyone is interested, but full for the rest of the camps!!
