Scholarship help fund your future.
Have you looked into these?
Women in Aviation International's 2027 cycle closes September 1, but there is a trap in the dates. You have to be a WAI member to apply, and membership closes August 30, two days before the applications do. If you are not already a member, August 30 is your real deadline, not September 1
It is one application, and you can put in for up to three different scholarships with it. A lot of people assume it is one at a time and only pick one.
For student pilots specifically there are 8 awards this cycle for private, sport and recreational:
- AOPA Student Pilot, $3,000, paid directly to you (most of the others pay your flight school instead)
- Boeing Flight Training, $7,500
- Esther Noffke Flight Training, $5,000
- Sporty's Foundation, $5,000, for WAI chapter members who work with youth
- Wings for Val Foundation, two separate awards at $10,000 each
- Women Military Aviators Dream of Flight, two at $3,000
- Ted Mallory Memorial, $250
If you are past your Private there are another 55 in the same cycle, covering instrument, commercial, multi, CFI, type ratings and helicopter.
WAI states on their own site that they do not consider gender when awarding, though a number of the individual awards are written for women. Read the specific one.
