I loved my work at a child care center. But I was worth more than $11 an hour. Early childhood educators, many of whom have worked through the pandemic, shouldn’t have to live paycheck to paycheck.

"In 28 states, a year of child care costs more than in-state tuition at a public university — and college isn’t cheap. Many families pay more than $1,000 a month in many states. And that was before the pandemic."

The Nation’s Child Care Crisis Child care, especially quality child care, is expensive—if not wholly unaffordable. The next stimulus should address that.
