Maria Montessori said, “Any unnecessary help given to a child is a hindrance to development.” Which means that from birth, physical and intellectual independence is the child’s primary aim. Something as simple as sweeping and cleaning up after an activity can give them a sense of independence and can help them make sense of the a seemingly chaotic world.

Finger knitting is a calming activity that allows children to develop their fine motor skills as well as their focus. It's magic to watch the child light up as they begin to pick up the art. Finger knitting is an excellent activity to keep children occupied on a summer trip.
