Rewarding day at Fort Custer flag pick-up. They awarded a certificate for Southwest Michigan homeschoolers aiding in this opportunity each year! Beautiful weather! Thanks to all who came out to help! Together we can make a difference!!

This is one of our favorite events! Join us as we honor our veterans!

Calling all homeschoolers for the annual Memorial Day service project! Families with children of all ages are welcome!
Flag Pick Up at Fort Custer National Cemetery Tuesday, May 26 from 9:00-10:30 am (or finished; it usually only takes 90 min!). 10:30-Noon: Rolling flags and lunch to follow at the maintenance center.
Located at 15501 Dickman Rd Augusta 49012
Where to meet: Turn left at the end of the long flag entry driveway and turn left again at the first road for the starting point. We will then caravan throughout the cemetery to the fields designated by the cemetery workers. They will have carts for us to fill with the flags.
~ This event will only be cancelled due to lightning or other severe weather. Flags will still be picked up in the rain, stood up in pallets to dry, and rolled later.
~ Dress prepared for wet grass and mosquitoes.
The cemetery staff and Advisory Committee invite families for lunch (hot dogs, chips, and drink), after the pick up when rolling flags into bundles of 10 at the maintenance center.
