The Saturday event at the Radisson Plaza Hotel and Suites downtown was the traditional main fundraiser for the Kalamazoo Literacy Council.

Here's another example of how a Kalamazoo College education extends beyond campus and into the community thanks to its Center for Civic Engagement and community-based courses. Lance Wolford '26 and Henry Black '26 are working on Kalamazoo’s Northside while they nurture a community garden at the Douglass Community Association. From sowing seeds to pulling weeds, their work is about more than growing vegetables.
