Pinch pots are one of the oldest methods of shaping clay.

In our pit fired pinch pots class, you’ll make pots using processed wild clay from Northern Michigan, finishing them by pit firing. One unfired pot will be returned to the earth along the trails at the Kalamazoo Nature Center. In time, they will disintegrate, becoming a part of the land and lifecycle of the soil.
