Back to School Tip #5 | Meet the Teachers!

All Hackett families are invited to meet our wonderful teachers on Sunday, August 23rd from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

This is the time you will be able to pick up your schedules in the upper foyer near the auditorium and learn about classes and expectations for the year.

We can't wait to see you!

We hope you are enjoying these last days of summer vacation! Our office will be Monday through Friday from 9am-1 pm if you need assistance with anything back to school.

Six years. 148 wins. Four Regional Championships. One State Title. And a lasting impact on HCP Baseball.

More than 100 members of the HCP baseball family and former players came together for an alumni game celebrating Coach Smiley Verduzco and his six years leading the Irish.

During Coach Verduzco's coaching career he led Irish baseball to:

-148–60 record
-4 Regional Championships
-2021 State Title

The numbers tell part of the story, but seeing so many former players and HCP families return to celebrate tells an even bigger one.

Thank you, Coach Verduzco, for six years of leadership and memories.

Back to School Tip #3 | School Supplies

Looking for the school supply list?

There isn't one, and that's completely normal in high school.

Start with the basics (pens, pencils, notebooks, folders, etc.). Teachers will share any class-specific supplies during the first week of school.

No need to overthink it. Just the basics!

New this year: Freshman Orientation is now on Sunday, August 23!

Incoming freshmen will receive their schedules, meet classmates, tour the building, and get ready for their first day at Hackett.

Date: Sunday, August 23
Time: 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Where: Enter through Door #8 (Lower Lot)

Planning to play a fall sport?

Before practices begin on August 10, be sure you've:

✔ Created your FinalForms account. Its's easy at finalforms.com
✔ Complete the brief set of questions.
✔ Upload a current sports physical. Don't forget Hackett will have sports physicals available tomorrow (Wed 8/5) on campus from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Taking care of these now helps ensure your student is ready to hit the ground running.

Hackett Catholic Prep is seeking a full-time Social Studies Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026-2027 school year.

We are looking for an educator who can bring history and social studies to life while supporting student growth in a rigorous, faith-filled, college preparatory environment.

Candidates must possess or be eligible for a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a History, Social Studies, or Social Science endorsement.

Position start date: August 17, 2026
