What an extraordinary experience for Hackett Catholic Prep senior Ada Ruhl!
Ada recently had the opportunity to attend the Beatification Mass of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen at The Dome in St. Louis, joining thousands of faithful gathered to witness this historic moment in the life of the Catholic Church.
We asked Ada to share the experience in her own words:
“Attending the beatification of Archbishop Fulton Sheen at The Dome in St. Louis was an unforgettable experience. Looking out into the arena at all of the people gathered to celebrate Fulton Sheen was incredible to see. The long procession of priests and bishops into Mass really showed the scale of the Church coming together to honor him.
Another part that made the experience unforgettable was the boy that fulfilled the miracle necessary for Fulton Sheen’s beatification, was there with his family. When he was born, his heart had stopped for 61 minutes, and he was brought back to life after his mother prayed for Fulton Sheen’s intercession.
Seeing Fulton Sheen’s jawbone as a relic available for veneration was especially interesting, and the whole event made the graces being poured out that day feel very real and present. It was a powerful reminder of faith, intercession, and the unity of the Church.”
What a gift for Ada to witness this moment firsthand and to bring that experience back to our Hackett Catholic Prep community. Experiences like these are a beautiful reminder that our students are not simply learning about their faith, but encountering a living Church and discovering their own place within it.
