Kalamazoo Earth Day Festival

Join us June 6th for a special Grower’s Gathering with Mother, movement artist, land tender, and co-director of Masa Center. Coming from a family of migrant farm workers, her relationship with land started when she was a young girl, foraging, growing, and selling plants with her Abuelo Rojelio. After working and volunteering on farms & community gardens for years, she now leads the “Milpa Learning Garden” project in Battle Creek, MI. Her work focuses on cultivating spaces that nurture transformative change, cultural restoration, and symbiotic relationships within the biosphere.

Bring your kids on a bird hike just for them on Saturday, June 13!

Did you know that when your child spends time in nature, they receive so many benefits from Mother Earth? Time in nature may:

📈 Bolster children's resilience against stress of adversity
📈 Relieve some of the everyday pressures that may lead to childhood depression
📈 Improve motor fitness, especially in balance and agility

You're invited along on a birding hike and scavenger hunt aimed at sparking your child's curiosity about nature and the birds around them.

We will wander around Milham Park looking for birds and bird nests while learning about bird behavior and habitat.
