Discover Your Voice This page is for my students and fans of Stoner Studio to connect. I have openings this summer in Petoskey and this fall in Kalamazoo.

Leveraging my classical voice and stage actor training, love of musical theater, and unique teaching style, I work with students to get their voice and performing ability to the next level. If you are not currently a member of my studio and would like to become one, message me here.

Senior year is always so bittersweet

Senior Spotlight 2026
Vincent plans on getting his BFA in Musical Theatre, from Oakland University.

Favorite memory: "Choir has brought me so many favorite memories that picking one is hard. Obviously I loved getting to sing with Foreigner freshman year, or singing Always Keep This Close sophomore year, but my favorite choir memory was getting a perfect score at solo and ensemble for the first time. Looking back at my videos, they sound awful and I really didn't deserve a perfect score, but getting one gave me the confidence I needed to push myself harder. That was the first time I felt real confidence in my voice and it's one of the reasons I want to go into Musical Theatre now."

Quote to share: “My favorite quote is "Water off a duck's back" -Jinx Monsoon. This quote has lived in my head since I started watching RuPaul's Drag Race in 8th grade. People weren't always the nicest to me when I was growing up, but I never let other people bring my spirits down. Every time I go out on stage to perform, I have that in my head. The only way to put yourself out there is by keeping in mind that you are the only one who gets to dictate how you feel, not others."

Advice for underclassmen: “Take voice lessons as soon as you can, and never take for granted every moment you get to sing in choir, it doesn't last forever."

Acknowledgement: “I'd like to acknowledge my best friends, Mekhiah and Jane, as well as my family for always being there when I need them."

Congratulations, Vincent! We will miss you next year!

Senior Spotlight 2026!

Ariel is going to Kalamazoo College for Political Science and Theatre!

Favorite memory: "All the times in class where we can't stop laughing and loving one another's company. Those are the moments that remind me why I love choir and everyone in it, and those are the moments I'll miss the most."

Quote to share: "I won't give up, no, I won't give in
'Til I reach the end, and then I'll start again
No, I won't leave, I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail"- Shakira"

Advice for underclassmen: “Try EVERYTHING!! Fear and doubt are your biggest enemies. Join that club, talk to that new person, try out for that solo. Just keep trying out new things, you miss every shot you don't take, and even when you miss, you'll come out of it with a lesson learned and yourself improved."

Acknowledgement: “Thank you to Mrs. Whiteoak for always believing in me and encouraging me to keep going even when I doubt myself. Your encouragement and kind words will always stay with me. And thank you to all the past treble ensemble seniors who made the choir a welcoming and loving place. You all truly made it feel like a family, and I hope I was able to do your legacy justice this year, and that our love reigns in years to come!!"

Congratulations, Ariel! We will miss you next year!
