We’re very proud and want to offer a big congratulations to our graduate assistant Jordan DeWester on a fantastic master’s recital last Sunday! Jordan played a huge program of Plog, Stevens, Vaughan Williams, Hindemith, Harvey, and Debussy and sounded great all the way through. Major thanks to Tina Gorter, who navigated all of this repertoire (and an ice storm/power outage) with grace and musicality.
Congratulations!!!

We had a great visit with Dr. Charlie Goodman this week. Charlie is currently the Asst. Professor of Tuba/Euphonium at Louisiana State University and is a proud WMU alum. He gave a great masterclass on Friday afternoon and turned right around and played an excellent recital. Thanks for the visit, Dr. Goodman!

Last studio class of the semester means Secret Santa gift exchange!! 🎅
A couple mugs, fun socks, new books, sweets, toilet golf (you read that right), a Taylor Swift bag, Gibson shirt (made in Kalamazoo!), a euphonium ornament, an inflatable waving guy (to conduct our next ensemble performance of course) and a nerf gun in case someone plays out of tune - Santa’s always listening!
