We are excited to announce that Mrs. Leah Savinsky will be joining our Music Department team as Co-Director of Bands starting with the 2026-27 school year! She will be joining current Director of Bands, Mr. Zachary Savinsky, in a newly created position that will allow our Band Program to continue prioritizing musical excellence and Christ-centered belonging.

Mrs. Savinsky joins us from previous teaching positions in Band and Music at Eau Claire Public Schools and Parchment School District. She attended Western Michigan University where she received her Bachelors of Music in Instrumental Music Education. Having taught students in grades K-12, Mrs. Savinsky truly understands the skills and routines that encourage student success in the music classroom.

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Savinsky to Kalamazoo Christian!

Congratulations to our KCMS Band students who participated in MSBOA District Solo and Ensemble this past Saturday! Our students performed either a Solo or Duet for an adjudicator, and received valuable written and verbal feedback on how to improve on their instrument.

We are very proud of our students for performing!

Congratulations to High School Band students Ainsley Randall and Renee Cleveland on their performances at State Solo & Ensemble! Both Ainsley and Renee earned Division I “Superior” ratings.

For Renee, in addition to performing her solo, students who are in 10th grade or higher at State S&E must go through what’s called a “proficiency examination”. This exam includes playing scales and sight reading in front of the adjudicator.

Way to go Ainsley and Renee! Keep up the great work!
