It’s the official launch of my new collab with local artist Ryan Smith! I know I’ve been talking about this for a while now and we’re finally ready to make you beautiful, customizable leather journal covers. 🙌🏻
Journals will start showing up on the shelves soon but if you want to personalize yours we’ll start taking orders Friday.
Can’t wait to see what you choose!

Hello there :) It’s Wednesday and the shop is open until 6 today. I’m waiting for an exciting order to be delivered today but I thought I’d pop on and show you some very specific things that this shops carries because of you. These are all things I ordered because some of you asked me to, and when I look around and see them I’m reminded how collaborative building this business has been.
From cream colored correction tape and mini staples for mini staplers to oil based and gel ballpoints to big assortments like Polychromos colored pencils and Winsor & Newton watercolors, curating this selection has truly been a partnership and I think that’s why it’s so amazing.
I’ll probably be back online later today to shop you the thing I’m so excited about, so watch for that. Can’t wait!

It’s been great to see so many of your faces this week! One of the things I love most about this shop is that one person may come for stitching supplies, the next wants leather paint, followed by someone looking for a great pen. Somehow it feels like I’ve created 3 shops but it’s all so fluid and works beautifully together. And I think it works for you, too, since so many of you have such diverse interests and talents.
Thank you for helping me create such a unique space in our community.
I’ll be in the shop 10-6 tomorrow and I look forward to seeing more of your faces.

Good morning! I’m back in the shop today after a whirlwind trip to New York and Chicago. I got here early for my annual fire inspection, but not before heading to my polling place to cast a vote for Abdul El-Sayed and the working class 🫶🏻👊🏻🗳️
I was here yesterday and received some big restocks, including Pastelmat pads and ton of new stickers from suatelier design.
The shop is open until 6 today, so please go vote and then come here and get yourself a little treat!

What a fun, useful, and productive trip! I went to some fantastic art supply and stationery stores yesterday, and made so many great connections at Stationery Fest today! It was especially wonderful to meet the makers behind some of the brands I carry in the shop.
I tried to limit my buying to gifts, items I want to try out for the shop, and limited edition items to stay on budget but it was hard! There were so many great vendors!
I also bought a little something from each shop I visited yesterday, even if I can buy all the things for my shop at lower rate, because that’s just the ethical thing to do. If I love the things when I use them you may see them appearing soon at Kalamazoo Dry Goods!
Thanks so much to everyone who came out today to celebrate Stationery Store Day! My husband and son said everyone was kind and patient and excited to be there. Thank you 🫶🏻
I’ll be back in the shop on Tuesday and I look forward to seeing your faces then.
Today is National Stationery Store Day! After spending all day going to stationery stores in NYC yesterday I’m realizing how much my shop really has to offer, and that the breadth of selection and the inclusion of all the tops brands like Midori, Kleid, Leuchtturm, Zebra, Lamy and Kaweco really is impressive.
So yes, Kalamazoo Dry Goods is an art supply shop AND stationer and we’d love to see you today, August 1st, on National Stationery Store Day.
Come see all the good stuff!

I finally got to SoHo Art Materials today! The store was so abundant but curated and intentional. There were racks and racks of oil paints but the only tube watercolor was Holbein. No Daniel Smith, no Winsor & Newton. They were so many beautiful brushes, but not a single rack of Princeton.
As one of the only remaining indie art supply shops in Manhattan, with a Blick just blocks away, it’s clear they’ve leaned into their strengths and found areas of competitive advantage.
I walked away with a half pan of A. Gallo watercolors and a Joules & Joules oil stick - it’s the only place in the country you can buy it from what I understand!
I also walked away with a SoHo Art t-shirt, gifted to me by the friendly and knowledgeable staff. 🫶🏻

Hello out there 🙂 It’s Thursday and the shop is open until 6. I’m on my way to NYC for Stationery Fest but if you’re in Kalamazoo over the next couple of days you can still browse beautiful stationery supplies and art materials and fibers at Kalamazoo Dry Goods.
The shop will be open until 6 today, 1-6 Friday (not 10-6!) and 10-5 Saturday.
Quilting fabric will be available Friday but not Saturday. Fabric rolls will not be available for cutting until I return next week.
If you come in Saturday, please know that my dear husband and son are covering the shop for me since Jasmine has plans. They will do their absolute best to answer all your questions but also if you need extra help or materials support/information you may want to come when I’m back next week. They’re doing this as a favor, so you can still shop on Saturday and I can travel, not because they know all the things about all the things.
Thanks so much for being a wonderful, supportive, creative community. I’m excited to share this journey with you!

Look what I’ve been busy restocking this afternoon! 🙌🏻 I know this has taken a minute but *almost* all the colors are now back in stock.
These beautiful Gansai Tambi pans can be used as gouache or watercolor, and they’re super smooth and creamy and highly pigmented.
I’d love to help you pick out a custom palette!
