The Varsity volleyball team wrapped up their regular season on Tuesday, October 29 with a strong victory against Parchment HS, winning in four sets and recording a remarkable 19 aces. Heidi VanDyke led the way with 5 aces and 11 kills, while Grace Scholten and Christina Anderson each added 5 kills. Emma Miller contributed defensively with 16 digs and 5 aces, and Paige Pawell orchestrated the offense with 26 assists. The team will next face Martin HS at Lawrence HS on Tuesday, November 5 for the first round of districts.

Tomorrow (10/25) is the regional Cross-Country meet at Portage West Middle School. Our runners could use all the support they can get as they attempt to qualify for state. Boys run @ 3:00 and Girls run @ 4:00. GO EAGLES 🦅

Saturday the Cross Country team was in Sturgis for the 60th Kiwanis Invitational. It was a cool morning perfect for running and our Eagles did an amazing job. First up was the middle school girls and most achieved a personal record. Maleah Miner (15:33 PR), Berea Miner (19:21 PR) and Sydney Mills (22:05 PR). Up next was the high school boys and they all ran extremely well. Nathaniel Karakula (19:50) finished 17th and Carter Schuiteboer (20:25) finished 23rd, both earning a medal for their efforts. Finally it was the high school girls turn. The girls ran very well and Lena Miner (26:00 SR) finished with her season record. Well done team!! Today (10/14) is a home meet at HCA. Come on out and cheer on our team and the Seniors as they run our course competitively for the last time.

HCA BLUE beat the premier homeschool team in two exciting games (29-27 and 25-20).
Our setters Alyssa Karrer and Grace Boyer each made 10 assists. Alyssa also had a kill and two hits. Grace Boyer led in serves with 5 aces. Laine McLaughlin had 8 kills and 9 hits. We are also celebrating that every single player on our team had at least one hit last night as well. This offensive playing got our team to 37 coaches points (3 and overs) just 3 shy of our very high goal.

Middle school volleyball (white team) came out victorious against St Michaels in 3 set making them 6-2 on the season. It was a serving battle tonight where every serve made the difference in points. Nellie Beck had some great tips while Emma Bishop had some great digs and amazing assists. Maddie Berens earned the only kill of the night. Great job ladies!

Saturday the Cross Country team was at the massive Portage Invitational with over 6,500 runners. The morning was cool and perfect for setting personal records and our team stepped up to the challenge. In a thrilling matchup, the varsity volleyball team emerged victorious after five intense sets. Paige Pawell led the charge with an impressive performance, recording 4 aces, 4 kills, 31 assists, and 8 digs. Emma Miller was a defensive powerhouse with 26 digs and 3 aces. Aleeya Menser contributed with 3 aces and 4 kills, while Ava Wickey added 6 kills. Heidi VanDyke had a standout game with 10 kills and 14 digs, and Christina Anderson chipped in with 9 kills. Madison Wickey rounded out the effort with 13 digs, showcasing the team's depth and resilience.

In an exciting matchup, the varsity volleyball team triumphed over Libertas in four sets. Christina Anderson was a standout with 7 aces and 3 kills. Ava Wickey contributed with 12 digs and 4 kills, showcasing her defensive skills. Paige Pawell excelled with 5 aces, 13 assists, 7 kills, and 8 digs, playing a crucial role in the team's offense. Heidi VanDyke added 6 aces, 5 kills, and 11 digs, while Emma Miller rounded out the strong performance with 3 aces and 17 digs. The team’s solid serving and defense were key to their success.

The 5/6th Light Blue volleyball team won against Algoma in three exciting sets in front of our amazing home crowd! With scores of 25-23, 25-27, and 15-2, the girls’ serves were on fire! Ava Karakula had 9 aces, followed by Peyton Henson (5), and both Nora McDermott and Analynn Sturdy both had 4! Three players maxed out their serves (5 in a row): Kyleigh Martinez, Ava Karakula, and Analynn Sturdy. Way to go, girls!

The varsity volleyball team delivered a dominant performance against Lawrence HS, winning in straight sets. Heidi VanDyke led with 5 aces and 6 kills, while Paige Pawell contributed 4 aces, 19 assists, and Eva Boekestein matched her with 6 kills. Emma Miller played a key defensive role with 9 digs. The squad's impressive total of 18 aces highlighted their strong serving and overall teamwork.

Yesterday our Eagles were at the Irish Fox & Hound meet @ KVCC. It was a great morning for a race and they didn’t disappoint. Sydney, Makenna & Lindsay did amazing in their first meet. Congratulations to Carter, Nathaniel, Jordan, Naomi and Mya for getting PR’s. Congrats to Nathaniel for winning the Fox award and taking 42 seconds off his time. A special shout out to Mya for taking almost 5 minutes off her previous best time, way to go!!! We’re so proud of each of you!!! GO EAGLES 🦅
