On October 12, the Church celebrates the feast of St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint. Born in London in 1991 and raised in Milan, Carlo died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15. He was beatified in 2020 and canonized in 2025.
From a young age, Carlo showed a deep love for the Eucharist, calling it his “highway to heaven.” He attended daily Mass, prayed the Rosary, and spent time in Eucharistic Adoration. Using his computer skills, he created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles around the world so that others could grow in faith.
Carlo lived an ordinary teenage life—playing soccer, enjoying video games, and helping classmates—yet he ordered everything toward God. He once said that people are born as originals but many die as photocopies. His feast invites the faithful, especially the young, to live with the same intentionality: to put Jesus first, use technology for good, and become saints in everyday life.
