It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our TMS founder, Pam Boudreau, has passed away.
Pam founded The Montessori School in 1972, building not only a school but also a nurturing and inspiring community that has touched generations of students and families. Her vision, dedication, and love for Montessori education created a place where children could grow with confidence, curiosity, and compassion.
We are forever grateful to Pam for creating the incredible community we are proud to be part of today. Her legacy will continue to live on through every classroom, every student, and every life shaped by TMS.
To honor Pam Boudreau’s legacy, we invite you to share a story or memory you have of her. If you didn’t have the chance to meet Pam, we would also love to hear how The Montessori School has supported you or your family.

Through our in-school internship program, our fifth-grade students step into meaningful roles within the school community. These hands-on opportunities allow them to apply what they’ve learned in authentic, purposeful ways - building confidence, practicing communication and independence, and further developing their leadership skills.
This year, interns are assisting with facilities management, lower elementary fiber arts, marketing, and ecology lessons.
Facilities interns support with everything from patching walls to preparing for fire inspections to addressing day-to-day maintenance requests. Intern quote: I love all of the engineering, adventure, and creativity in my internship. I like having a say in every decision (most every), so I feel heard.
Fiber arts interns oversee handwork projects in the classroom, teach other students, and maintain the fiber arts area. Intern quote: What I like about being the fiber arts intern is that I get to teach others how to make things like pompoms and scarves.
Marketing interns help create social media posts, event flyers, and practice photography. Intern quote: I like helping to create flyers and LOVED setting up the classroom for Mini Montessori.
Ecology interns prepare materials, teach fellow students, help monitor the natural areas on our campus, and build connections with our local conservation partners. Intern quotes: I like learning more about ecology and teaching the little kids on Thursdays. I get to spend more time outside and inspire the next generation of kids.

We're soaking up the February sunshine while learning outdoors!
People all around the world paused to notice the birds last week as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count - including us! The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is a global citizen science project organized by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society to engage the public in bird conservation. The wild, natural areas on our campus provide food and shelter for birds, making our school a great place to pause and look for birds. We recorded 16 bird species in 15 minutes! In addition to counting the birds, we planted native wildflower seed, learned about birds' needs and adaptations, and our favorite activity was learning about bird dances. The dances were especially fun since we were all excited for the Valentine's Dance on Friday.

We look forward to sharing more about our campus birding adventures in the future. The Super Epic Earth Defenders (SEED) student group will be working on creating a couple of videos to share with our community, focusing on habitat gardens and preventing birds from hitting your windows.

Dr. Montessori was truly ahead of her time, establishing a scientific approach to education that emphasizes hands-on learning, nurtures curiosity, and promotes peace. Her philosophy of meeting each child where they are socially, emotionally, and academically, creates a beautiful and supportive learning environment.
