A "Save the Date" announcement. The department is proud to co-sponsor with the Upjohn Institute a public lecture on the changing Medicaid paperwork requirements that will impact many in the Kalamazoo and surrounding areas. This is part of the broader effort by the Medicaid Access Coalition to help ensure that Michigan Medicaid workers and families are informed about the policy and rule changes associated with the new Medicaid work requirements.

Please join us in congratulating our newest PhD! Yesterday, Bisrat Woldesilassie successfully defended his dissertation, "Effectiveness of Monetary Policy Communication: Evidence from Textual Analysis of Daily Newspaper Articles."

Bisrat is currently a Senior Model Validation Analyst at Columbia Bank in Portland, Oregon.
