The Office of Diversity and Inclusion was developed in 2008 with the purpose of implementing diversity and inclusion throughout the fabric of the WMU community. The Diversity and Multiculturalism Action Plan (DMAP) was developed by a group of faculty, staff, and students in 2004 and adopted by the Board of Trustees in 2006. The Office of Diversity and Inclusion encompasses Multicultural Affairs, Disability Services for Students, and Le***an, Bisexual, Gay, and Transgender Student Services.

A finalist for the Director of the Autism Services Center has been chosen!

The finalist will be on campus on Friday, January 16. The candidate will visit Western's Main Campus to meet the search committee, Office of Diversity and Inclusion leadership staff, Autism Services Center Staff, and Disability Services for Students Staff, as well as give a campus wide presentation.

The presentation will take place Friday, January 16 at 10:30 a.m., Sangren Hall, Room 1920. We would greatly appreciate your attendance and please share widely in your networks.

If you are able to attend the presentation, we ask that you please complete a survey to provide us with feedback. The link to the survey will be active after the candidate's presentation. You may only submit one evaluation survey and the submission period will end Wednesday, January 21. Please click here to submit a survey for Sean Fields.

ODI is thrilled to share the Gamma Rho Chapter Accounting Leadership Exploration Fair! Presented by NABA at WMU and Beta Alpha Psi!

This event will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, at the John E. Fetzer Center.

This event is designed to connect first- through third-year accounting, finance, pre-business, and undecided students with companies offering early-career opportunities, including business leadership programs, internships, externships, rotational roles, and part-time positions that allow students to gain experience while attending college.

This event acknowledges and honors the academic and campus contributions of our multicultural graduates.

This event will take place at the Student Center Ballroom on Saturday, December 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Any students wanting to register for this event will have to do so before November 7th!

Readers and Artists!

Reginald Dwayne Betts, an artist that has been working with the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, will be holding separate discussion presentations on his books, 'Felon' and 'Doggerel.'

This event will take place on Wednesday, November 12th in the Multicultural Center in the Trimpe Building at 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Betts will be discussing his book, 'Doggerel'

This event requires quests to register online!
