Planning your SIP? This is a fantastic opportunity!

We are excited to announce the launch of the
Social Justice SIP Research Stipend!

The Social Justice SIP Research Stipend will provide up to 5 students working on their Senior Individualized Project relating to social justice with a $2000 stipend that helps students alleviate the costs of doing their research over the summer months (June-August).

The application is open now and closes May 5th.

I love this perspective on the importance of applying for opportunities, and the value of failure in your growth and perseverance. In the moment it doesn't feel great, but the reflection and writing experience and feedback you gain each time has a cumulative positive effect.

"Kirby and another student repeatedly applied for small grants but kept getting rejected. Along the way, their proposals kept getting better, leading them to submit for an even larger grant that they secured."

Rejection is an important part of an education and of this MSU Ph.D. candidate's skirt MSU grad student Caitlin Kirby wore a skirt made of rejection letters while defending her dissertation. It's part of her work to normalize rejection.
