Student group for atheists, agnostics, humanists, skeptics, and other freethinkers. We reject mysticism and blind faith.
"Good sense is mankind's most equitably divided endowment. . .the differences of opinion are not due to difference in intelligence, but merely to the fact that we use different approaches and consider different things. For it is not enough to have a good mind: one must use it well."
--Rene Descartes
At the Center for Inquiry, we believe that evidence-based reasoning, in which humans work together
to address common concerns, is critical for modern world civilization. Moreover, unlike many other institutions, we maintain that scientific methods and reasoning should be utilized in examining all claims, including pseudoscience and religion. No topic should be placed off limits to intellectual scrutiny—certainly not fringe science and religion, which have an enormous influence on beliefs and conduct. In aiming to foster a secular society, we do not seek to abridge the rights of believers. We vigorously object to government support of religion and the use of religious dogma to justify public policy; we do not oppose the free exercise of religion. The secular society we are building is a community of reason and compassion in which the dignity and fundamental rights of all individuals are respected. Topics addressed include science, religion, philosophy, social issues, politics, atheism, humanism, agnosticism, skepticism, deism, evolution, morality and ethics, secularism, rationalism, psychology, and others. Keywords: atheism, humanism, agnosticism, skepticism, deism, , science, religion, philosophy, social issues, politics, evolution, morality and ethics, secularism, rationalism, psychology, evolution, secular humanism, atheist, humanist, agnostic, freethinker, freethought, atheists, freethinkers, humanists, agnostics, deists, religion, separation of church and state, skeptics, secular humanists, naturalist, naturalists, science, scientist, CFI, WMU, CFI On Campus, Center for Inquiry On Campus, Western Michigan University

Looking for an Internship this Summer? Check out these great internships being offered by Center for Inquiry-Michigan (CFI) and Center for Inquiry's Outreach and Public Policy Departments
Seeing as how we've gotten more than the 4 required members to start an official RSO on campus now I think is the time to get together and at least meet in person on campus somewhere, sometime. So, if there was to be a meeting where and when could everyone meet? I would suggest the Bernhard Center lobby area as a place, the time would be for the majority to decide. I'm available this weekend or between 2 and 6pm once classes start during weekdays.
