Multicultural Affairs for Students serves as an information resource on the role and value of diversity in education for Western Michigan University and the greater Kalamazoo communities. Our focus:
* Events and programs that promote cultural awareness
* Support for student organizations
* Networking opportunities
* Mentor and peer mentor programs
* One-on-one tutoring
* Academic progress monitoring
* Employment and internships
* Scholarship information

MAS strives to ensure that all students are given the full opportunity to discover and develop their talents, interests, and unique potential, and to provide a learning-centered environment that presents the context for intellectual, cultural, professional, and personal growth during the college experience. Through programs, services, and initiatives that address cross-cultural competency and personal empowerment, MAS fosters community development, leadership, and a campus climate that respects and appreciates the history, culture, and traditions of all students.

Come learn about 3 study abroad opportunities that are great fits for students who have never studied abroad, first generation students, and anyone interested in learning more! The Study Abroad team will also be providing information on study abroad and available scholarship opportunities. What a way to kick off the semester! Nearly 350 Broncos came together for our 2026 Multicultural Meet & Greet!

From an inspiring faculty panel sharing insights and experiences to connecting with campus and community resources, meeting student organizations, and enjoying a delicious spread of culturally inclusive foods, the event was all about celebrating community, connection, and belonging.

A huge thank-you to our faculty panelists, campus and community partners, student organizations, and everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success!
