One last dinner before everyone leaves Landsea ADK😭

Tonight was full of spaghetti, lemonade, dancing, and skits! What a great way to wrap up the summer!

Tomorrow the student will be rafting before they hop on the bus to head back to the Zoo.

🌲 Solo & Service on LandSea ADK 🌲

A core part of the LandSea experience is stepping away, giving back, and challenging yourself.

Participants chose their own path through the Solo & Service section of the program—some took on 48 hours of solo, some dedicated 48 hours to service, and others split their time with 24 hours of each.

While our solo participants embraced time for reflection and resilience, our service crews were hard at work putting their hands to good use! 💪🛠️ They painted, built boardwalks, maintained trails, removed stumps, and helped make Massawepie—our LandSea ADK basecamp—even more beautiful.

From quiet moments in the woods to getting their hands dirty together, Solo & Service is all about growth, connection, and giving back to the places that make LandSea possible. 🌿

LandSea Kalamazoo participants are braving the rain (happily?) with their patrols! We’re excited for this week!

Yesterday the Basecamp patrols left on their expeditions! One group is out hiking 🥾 and the other is canoeing 🛶

The expedition patrols are still out in trail/water having a blast!

Can’t wait to hear about their experiences when they all get back to camp in the next few days!

Up next: Solo and Service!

🧗‍♀️Climb, rappel, resupply, repeat! 🔁
We just wrapped up the climb & rappel portion of the LandSea Pre-Orientation! Every patrol got the chance to climb and rappel, and there was plenty of teamwork, encouragement, and fun along the way. 🙌

Groups have resupplied for the second part of the trip and are now on to the next adventure! 🌲

What’s on deck:
🏕️ Base Camp is heading to The Wild Center today and have service projects in the afternoon. Tomorrow they will be stand-up paddleboarding!

🥾🛶 Expedition Patrols are back out on the trail, hiking/canoeing their way through the Adirondacks.

Stay tuned for more updates 😊
