Just a few last minute reminders as we are all busy getting ready for next week:
1. Tomorrow night, July 30 are the livestock and horse mandatory meetings. The barns will be following this schedule 6:00- horses and poultry, 6:15 beef/dairy steer, feeder calf, 6:30 - rabbits, 6:45 - sheep, 7;00 - swine, 7:15 - goats. This is a little different than in the past because we combined beef and feed calves into one meeting instead of two since they are in the same barn.
2. Make sure that you know when your animals need to be dropped off.
3. This is a busy time, please remind your children not to run out from the barns and across the driveways. Also, remind them to watch for cars when crossing and playing in the campground area. We want everyone to have fun and be safe.
4. Still project judging will be in the main expo from 9am - 12pm. Once your project has been judged you will need to take it down to the still project barn for display. There will be some adults down there to help make sure that things are organized neatly. If the judges are thinking about awarding you a special award they may keep your project and it will be moved down to the barn when judging has been completed.
5. MI Boba will be there in the morning (around 10am) and will be available for purchase.
6. There will be concessions in the little red barn. The flyer was posted earlier and sent out via 4-H online email list serve. They will be taking cash and credit cards.
7. If you bring your pop cans to the 4-H information booth you can get a sucker. Help keep the grounds clean and help the earth by recycling.
8. The rabbit barn will be selling bags of ice as a fundraiser. They are taking cash only.
9. Thank you to those who have already signed up to help monitor the still project and help answer questions for the public at the 4-H information booth. This is a community service project that helps young people learn valuable life lessons (Head- critical thinking, Heart - communication and social skills, Hands -community service, contributions to group effort, Health- self-responsibility & self discipline). When youth see their parents/family members stepping up to help learn that giving back it part of what we all do as part of the 4-H community. We are still in need of a few slots to be filled - https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050D49A8AD22A2F49-64661680-2026 #/.
I'm looking forward to a great week with all of you!!
