Introducing JURIS DOCTORATE Christen *Kat Baxter! That's right, she graduated law school ⚖️💪📃🎓👩🎓 Next stop, the Bar Exam.
After what was done to our students, Ms. Baxter decided to go to law school to be a Disability Rights attorney. She will be launching a Disability Rights Legal Assistance nonprofit, which will be dedicated to making sure that the civil rights of those with disabilities are not ignored.
Last year of law school! Opening my solo law firm straight outta the Bar! Disability Rights Law and MORE!
"People" WILL stop hurting & taking advantage of people with disabilities. I'm going to do all I can in my power to make it happen 😁

Update:
Owner Christen (*Kat) made the Dean's List (& Honor Roll) after her first semester of law school! She joined the law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta and was accepted into the Society of Scholars within P.A.D. too! She is currently in her 6th week now, of her 3rd semester of Law School, and has been heavily involved in several orgs, holding e-board positions, and working in a leadership role helping connect her classmates in a virtual world for the last year now! She continues to strive to do the best she possibly can to get to the finish line, with the highest rank possible, and filled with every bit of knowledge that she can to one day concur the courtroom for Disability Rights! ⚖
The Creative Awakenings classroom doors may still be closed, but owner Christen (*Kat) Baxter is kicking butt in Law School right now! She is determined to become a disability rights lawyer who will make large waves in the fight for people with disabilities, & against those who violate their rights! We will continue to fight for our students! There is a SHARK growing up in those waters! 💖

Hey everyone! Just stopping in to say hello 👋 It's Christen *Kat, sending a shout out to everyone from LAW SCHOOL!!! That's right! I have a PERFECT 4.0 so far, and I WILL NOT HOLD BACK! I'm kicking butt, and climbing the ranks, so when I'm done I can come back stronger than ever to help, and fight for all of my students and their friends! We will do this together ❤
So update: We currently no longer have a classroom. One of the owners, Christen, is heading for law school, and she will be a disability rights lawyer when she finishes. She plans on looking for another classroom as soon as she is able. We will be restarting classes as soon as possible, but there are a few things that need to be done first. Can't wait to see what the future holds!

Our classes are available to anyone who wants to take them. We don't strictly teach to individuals with disabilities. Some of the classes we offer are our Tie Dye t-shirt parties, fused glass, mosaic classes, and large table group classes. To buy one of our tables, our Garden table is $400, and our Flower Checker Board table is $500. You can design your own 3' table with 1-5 people, 4 3hr classes for $450, supplies included...you can bring extras if you'd like 💖

Creative Awakenings really needs YOUR help! If you don't know who we are, we are an art studio that helps individuals with disabilities. We teach art, give them an opportunity to sell their art work in the Kalamazoo Art Hops, venture out in the community doing various activities, and we build a family based foundation to give a home away from home feel.
It's been 10mo now since the students' rights were violated and their funding was taken from them, and the owners have been working for free, to keep the doors open. We are in serious need of donations to keep the doors open for them. We also sell t-shirts, handmade pillows, and glasses as a fundraiser. YOUR help can help us keep helping our students!!!
