If you travel with kiddos, you know how hard it is to find a good place to stop. Imagine clean restrooms, walking paths with bridges and spectacular waterfalls. Oh! Also a huge play structure. There's also a fish hatchery if you want to mix in a little more learning.

No brewery...it's very kid friendly!

Where? Tumwater, Washington. Exit 103.

Lake Town Academy is a school that truly knows how to actively engage children in hands-on learning!

We’re enrolling for the 2026–2027 school year 🤍

Preschool–8th grade • Small class sizes • Monday–Thursday schedule

Our days are hands-on, engaging, and often include time outside. We take the time to truly get to know each student—how they learn, what they need, and how to help them grow with confidence.

It’s a supportive, close-knit environment where students build strong friendships, feel comfortable being themselves, and are encouraged to learn and grow at their own pace.

If this sounds like a good fit for your family, we’d love to welcome you for a visit.

Mom has a nagging feeling that her boy is going to get lost in the crowd when he starts kindergarten.

She has friends who are homeschooling, but she’s not sure if that’s a good fit for her.

It’s not a matter of caring. You’re the parent who will do whatever it takes to find–or create–the best fit for your child’s education.

You’re not afraid of hard work.
You’re willing to make personal sacrifices.

You just don’t know where to start.

If this rings true for you, follow the School Aid Station for practical tools and resources to get you started or fuel your journey.

Reading to my grandkids is one of my sweetest pleasures. Little Mercy loved this beautiful Easter picture book. The next time I get to visit, she'll be older, and our conversation will sound very different.

I designed a discussion guide to use with children of all ages. Until Easter, it will be available for free. After that, you can purchase it from my store on Teachers Pay Teachers. See the link in the comments.
