What an incredible first day of school for our 1st–12th graders! From students, staff and teachers catching up with each other, to engaging first lessons in the classroom (especially that guitar solo from Mr. Groff), today set the perfect tone for the year ahead.

A massive shoutout to our dedicated teachers, hardworking support staff, and incredible families for helping launch this morning smoothly. And to our students - your energy, big smiles, and ready-to-learn attitudes made Day 1 unforgettable!

Here’s to an outstanding 2026–2027 school year filled with learning, growth, and community. Let’s make it the best one yet!

Congratulations Kate, an 11th grader as our Student of the Month for May! Her teachers sang her praises! Kate is an outstanding student and musician. In choir, her top notch musicianship is incredibly helpful to our ensemble. Her ability to play multiple instruments capably, pronounce different languages with ease, and sight read most anything in front of her makes her an invaluable member of our group. Keep up the great work Kate!

Kate is one of those students that makes teacher's jobs fun! She makes regular "requests" such as sentence diagramming, poetry, etc. These requests impact the direction the teacher takes the class, because it is so refreshing to have a student be curious and deeply intrinsically motivated.

Kate WANTS to learn, so when she asks for something, they try to accommodate! They have watched Kate teach herself French (through the online program) and she speaks to me conversationally and sometimes even turns in her assignments in French! It is rare to find a student so driven, and they feel lucky to be a part of her growth! Kate is an amazing student and individual.

She is a student who will assist others without being asked, and is willing to listen to contrary opinions without judgement. In addition, she is an exceptional writer as shown by her Washington Mayflower Society "Letter Home" award with what the Educational Committee considered the "best writing they have received in the history of the scholarship."

Well deserved! Congrats to Kate!

We can't wait to celebrate the amazing Class of 2026! To help Friday night run smoothly for all of our families and guests, please keep these quick reminders in mind:

⏰ Timing: Gates open at 6:00 PM, and the ceremony starts exactly at 7:00 PM. Give yourself plenty of time to find a seat on the field!

♿ Accessibility: An elevator to the stadium is available for anyone who needs it.

🛑 Parking: A quick reminder—please do not park on the track. Let's keep our facility safe and clear!

🏟️ Stadium seating is for our graduates. Family and friends will sit in chairs on the field.

Please join us in congratulating Iris, our Student of the Month for April. Iris is a remarkable source of positive energy and kindness throughout the elementary school. Her joyful personality brightens our day, and her attention to detail, while keeping us on our toes, truly shows she is small but mighty.

She has demonstrated incredible resilience, patience, and bravery this year, particularly in learning to manage her diabetes. At only 6, she has inspired us all by quickly mastering the ability to monitor her blood sugar—an impressive feat for any person, let alone a 1st grader.

Iris is a wonderful student who works very hard. She has made significant academic growth and continues to improve in every area, recently tackling her first double-digit addition problem. Her positive presence is consistent; greeting the staff with a big smile and patiently waits to say hello before heading to class. Iris is also a great friend, and other students naturally enjoy being around her. Congrats Iris!!
