5-YEAR BOWLERS (AND A 50)
It's been about 20 years since we last gave bowls to our 5-year dancers. We revived the tradition on Sunday at Hoʻolauna. Several of the haumāna pictured here are five years "old"; most have been with us for a lot longer. One of the OGs – kumu Pili MacKenzie esq. – was recognized for 50 uninterrupted years of pilina to our 50 year old hālau. We hope to be around long enough to give out a bunch more.
